Whatever is going on, going through your head, whoever is around you, breathe in.
Breathe out, follow the breath out of your mouth, ride it out from your lungs, as if you were surfing on it.
Touch it with your mind as it flows between your teeth, through your lips. Feel it leave you, every last moving air molecule, until it stops.
Breathe in again. And follow your breath out to the end.
Let the in breaths happen naturally, and pay closer attention to the out breaths.
When a thought appears in your mind, whether it’s emotional, analytical, pictoral, or vague, realize that you are thinking, and say “Thinking” to yourself. Let the thought go, it’s just a thought. Let it pass from your mind.
Keep the breathing, follow the out breath.
Acknowledge your current situation, your surroundings, the people around you, the sounds, the sensations in your body. Breathe it all in.
Then breathe it out, and follow your breath. Thinking.
