Mornings

There’s something magical about mornings.

As Thoreau puts it, there’s a part of us that is fully awake in the morning and falls asleep for the rest of the day.

It’s a special portion of our minds that is brand new each day. Everything else is quiet. If we give it the chance we can be fully in that first waking mindset.

No matter what else happens the rest of the day, embrace your self in that first moment. When you are just you, and not in the roles you play in this world. Breathe, and try to appreciate exactly who you are. Before the armor covers it up for the day.

Live powerfully,

Steve

  1. Short and sweet. There is something magical about mornings, isn’t there? I remember the days when I would get up two hours early (if I had to be somewhere at 6AM, I woke at 4AM) just so I can take the morning slow before the day’s frenzy. Those days are long gone. Maybe I should take it back up.

You mention Thoreau again. You are a modern day transcendentalist. A butter-coffee-drinking, grass-fed-beef-eating, meditating, I-wear-copper-in-my-sandals-for-grounding transcendentalist.
